United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash Could someone please comment on the woodgrain finish on these dashes that has actually laid hands on one. I know the fit is good.
My original dash has holes cut in it I want to eliminate and fill but I will not pay $1000 plus to re wood grain it. This appears to be a solution to return my dash to its original smooth appearance without radio, ac control, mounted in it. It is far enough away from the mouldings, I can live with any difference in graining/color. thank you |
Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash I think this guy does vintage Ford woodgrain.

Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash Have it hydro wood grained. Much cheaper than hand done and looks like factory.

Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash thats where i got the $1000 figure. "Grain it " is $1200
UP new dash is $420 |
Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash I woodgrained my dash by gluing walnut veneer, 1" edging strips, to the metal with contact cement. Took time but cost me less than $20. You could fill the unwanted holes beforehand.

Judging from the photo in their online catalogue, the base coat appears to be a good replica of the original. One might quibble with the burl pattern compared to the original, but the average bear would not know the difference.
Shown below are some original examples (you have to discount for brighter ambient lighting and greater UV deterioration in the example on the right). |
Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash thank you David, I am sure it would satisfy me and would certainly look better than it does now with a 90's radio hanging out of it on one side.
Got one of the new dash panels that holds five gauges and fits in the original hole. Very nice quality. Larry |
Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash I stock the United Pacific woodgrained dashes and must say they look very good. I can post some real life photos on here tomorrow if you like

Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash The United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash looks great, if you have a 32 and your looking for a dash that is woodgrained the united dash would be a great dash to buy, its a great price for a steal dash with woodgrain finish on it, summit, and speedway have them for $ 404.99, thats a really good deal , i would say the woodgrain finish on it is hydrographics, if i had to guess i bet julianos is doing the hydrographics woodgraining on the dashes

Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash I was following this thread with great interest & was curious to know if anyone can duplicate the wood grain on the repo dash should a person want to grain the garnish mouldings as well.

Re: United Pacific Woodgrained Repro Dash Most likely Juliano's and I thought Honest Charlie's was doing the same way.
