39 Pickup door windows I'm reading some untitled Ford littature about the wonderful motion of the door glass. Says: "The door window slides back before it lowers," It goes on the say the this feature opens a vertical opening in the front of the glass which helps ventilate the cab in winter and rain. Not on my peeekup! Has I been cheated? Should I return the truck??

Re: 39 Pickup door windows The 37 cab on my truck has these. I have heard them refered to as "smokers" windows. I guess you could say they help with ventilation. But so does the tilt out windshield and cowl vent. Not sure how long these were featured on trucks, or whether they were used on passenger cars. No reas on to ditch the pickup though.

Re: 39 Pickup door windows The "smoker" windows were on 37, 38 & 39 cars.

Re: 39 Pickup door windows My '38 coupe has those. My '39 tonner does not. Keep the truck;)

Re: 39 Pickup door windows 1936 sedan I had had them. When I got the car they had been changed to only go up and down not back and down. Someone had added the bendedable window track. Also removed the bolt that causes the window to move back in the regulator.

Re: 39 Pickup door windows I certainly can say the sliding rear window makes the 39 livable in the summer. You all know that I have two compasses in my 39:one to show where I 'm heading and the other to remind me where I was at. Before I got the sliding rear window the rear ward compass never would point backward as were I was was too hot to go back thereto...
