Anybody else with a car for sale heard from "Hunter Wolf"? All the typical scam telltales, has a busy flexible schedule, will have "agent" transfer full price to my Paypal account, blah blah blah.

I have a 40 convertible 60s mild custom for sale on the Seattle CL site and I sent this person a pretty terse response telling him/her not to contact me again.

It is kind of like the Nigerian Prince, I wonder how many people fall for this? Paypal transactions like that are "pending" until the buyer oks it, which they can decline after they drive away with your vehicle.

Anyway, my add wasn't up 5 minutes before I got an email wanting to "BUY" my "wanted 8BA". DUDE, it's a WANTED add!

Just received another email;
if your still looking for a flat head I have a crate motor straight from ford it's new and not rebuilt let me know if your interested my number is 778-552-xxxx


Think I'll pass on this, but if any of you are interested in a brand new engine you might want to give him a call.:D

The scammers probably use many different names. I get these scumbags replying to nearly every ad I place on any of the internet sites. Its not that difficult for me to recognize them.

You ever consider IGNORING someone who emailed your?. Just because you get an email doesn't mean you have to respond to them and then post Re:Scammer here. Did I ever consider IGNORING this post? ... ya got me there.

Since these guys seem to regularly "prowl" these boards, I believe that is wholly appropriate for members post warnings when they are contacted by one of these scammers. I will go so far as to say in my case, I would consider it my duty to let the other board member know that there is one of these vermin active on here. It seems that more and more lately, they "cruise" the "Wanted" ads on boards such as this looking for prey.

Quite frankly Paul, I do not understand your position at all.
