Seat frame wood for ???
 

Looking at the parts catalog these appear to be the seat frames for the back seat of a Tudor 55A and/or 55B. Can you tell me if that is correct?

The rear seat is missing from my 29 Tudor. Measuring the space, those could be the right frames. The area is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches larger than your measurements, that would allow for the upholstery. The relief should be to clear the top of the rear spring.

Those are Tudor sedan rear seat wood frames.

there are 2 metal brackets on the back of each piece, what do they slide into or (in the case of the back) over?

Looking at this old thread, I am looking for the same answer so instead of starting a new one i figured i would ask here. My car was in pieces when i got it and i have nothing to go by.

I have learned that the rear seat back in a 1931 tudor uses the two metal clips shown more clearly in the attached image. Not my image, found it on the net.

The back of the back seat, is on the top half of this picture. The part with the radius faces up. The two brackets, on the top half, slide into a cross rail in the back of the tudor.

What do the bottom two pieces slide into? My car has nothing except pieces missing from rust.

I don't believe that they slide into anything. They just keep the seat from sliding forward.

On the coupe back rest, the uppers slide into the package tray and the lowers fasten to the seat riser but I don't know about the Tudors. The lower cushion relief is for the rear crossmember hump.

After the back cushion is secured the bottom back of the cushion goes under the back and then push the front backwards behind the rail in the riser, nothing holds the bottom cushion in place but friction, the area under the bottom cushion is a good place for contraband or tools and parts

The bottom seat wood support has the two short metal channels on the bottom to keep the seat cushion from sliding forward just like the coups seats. Ford generally always had a place to store tools under seats or floor boards.
