Chassis Engineering Just announced, Chassis Engineering closing it's doors after the passing of it's founder Roy Lewis. Sad day for old Fords.

Re: Chassis Engineering Very sad.

Re: Chassis Engineering Is there another company making similar products ?
|
Re: Chassis Engineering |
Re: Chassis Engineering No other company has the inventory of chassis parts as CE. Their front/rear suspension kits and engine/trans re-enforced tubular cross members are unique, along with many other specialty and very well designed items.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering This really is sad to hear. This is actually a kick in the gut to guys with no fabrication experience, nor an idea as to what to fabricate in the first place.
This MAY (or may not) be a huge opportunity for the right person to step-up and grab a huge bull by the gonads. DD |
Re: Chassis Engineering That is so sad to hear. When I think old Ford chassis I think of them first.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering That is too bad . . . they've been a great friend to this industry for 53 years. I can see how Jeanne is ready for new chapters of her life.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering WTF..No they have some great stuff ; (

Re: Chassis Engineering It has been a fun 53 years of Street Rodding, but today we are closing our garage doors, packing up our tools, and preparing for new adventures. To all our loyal customers, dealers and friends, we would like to say thank you, it has been an honor. Keep your eyes on the Chassis Engineering Inc. website and Facebook page (link) after Thanksgiving to check out our for remaining kits AND some historic treasures found in the attic. Sincerely, Jeanne Lewis, Chassis Engineering Inc. PS. Keep your wheels on the road ! |
Re: Chassis Engineering Wow! That is really bad news. Any hope that another company will absorb them?
|
Re: Chassis Engineering That's as bad for the old car hobby as Dick Spadaro's passing.
Just hope that if a company steps up, it won't be like Ecklers taking over Macs. |
Re: Chassis Engineering I was afraid that would happen. Sorry to see that. Leaves a big hole in the hobby. Lucky for me I happened to be near there recently on business and made a special trip to pick up some parts for my 48. Glad I did. Great opportunity for an entrepreneur to capitalize on the brand, the years of good will and keep building on it.

Re: Chassis Engineering That's too bad. They made some very nice kits for bolt on conversions. Hopefully other fabrication shops will pick up and produce some of their designs.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering I couldn't have completed my project without the help of CHASSIS ENGINEERING; this is devastating news to hobbyists like myself who lack fabrication skills. Hope someone steps up and fills the void.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering A lot of the Chassis Engineering stuff would be fairly easy to copy and fab IF there is not an infringement issue.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering ecklers and mac's is one and the same co.

Re: Chassis Engineering Quote:

Re: Chassis Engineering Chassis Engineering was located just half a block from my office. I did know Roy passed away, but I assume someone, somewhere, will pick up the operation, as well as the very large inventory on the site. I will post any news that develops.
|
Re: Chassis Engineering I visited the factory/shop 10 years ago and had a tour.
I was planning on buying their dropped axle kit for my 36 this winter. I wanted a complete kit to take the guesswork out of what works with what? Any ideas who else sells a complete kit for a reasonable price? |
