39 tudor windshield installation

am trying to install windshield in my 39 tudor and have a problem. with the top hinge connected the bottom does not want to close easy. regulator not connected bottom is out about 3". seal is from Drake and i am afraid of using any force to get it closed. anyone have a tip to this installation? 37-39 closed cars should be the same.

A light coating of petro. jelly and about 2 weeks of closing a little at a time, and it closed all the way. Paul Selfe.
