Draglink zerk problem

Hi all: I cannot get grease to go into draglink fitting on passenger side. My grease gun is working fine, I removed the zerk fitting and grease passes through it, tried to clean inside of joint with a nail while zerk fitting was off but that made no difference. Anyone run into this before and find a solution?
Thanks

Did you recently replace your draglink?

Re: Draglink zerk problem

Could you remove the zerk fitting and then insert a flexible piece if stainless fishing line leader to operate like like a Rotor Rooter in an electric drill?

Draglink is original. I guess that trying to remove internal grud is best done mechanically like the roto rooter suggestion. I have read that adding anything other than grease to the joint may be a bad idea. Thanks

Re: Draglink zerk problem

If the zerk is bottomed out it will prevent grease form flowing. Back out a little and see if that works. Worked for me.

Re: Draglink zerk problem

have someone operate the grease gun while you use a hammer to smack the drag link all the way it, some times the jarring action from the hammer smacks will loosen any old grease in the link and let new grease enter

heat the bottom where it screws in use a heat gun or hair dryer

Remove the draglink and clean it up.

Try some penetrating oil in the end first and let it soak until it comes out the end with the stud. Could also use some K1. I would thing the drag link is at the end of it's useful life.
