Duel pulley generator 1 Attachment(s)
I have two one has 4 inch dia. Other one 4 3/4 dia.
Why the difference.Attachment 314252 |
Re: Duel pulley generator 1 Attachment(s)
Well the 4" will spin faster and give you more juice at lower RPM! I have a 4" installed on my application.

Re: Duel pulley generator For applications where engines ran under different conditions and RPM requirements. Such as , cars, trucks, military vehicles, generating sets, welders, etc etc. Regards, Kevin.

Re: Duel pulley generator The 4 inch originally was used on 35 - 36 trucks. The 4 3/4" was standard production on 37 - 39 trucks. There were two versions of the 37 - 39, one for 2-brush and one for 3-brush generators. Any part numbers on the pulleys?

Re: Duel pulley generator There is also a difference in the mounts. The green bible has illustrations of the generator front mounts with part numbers and a fair amount of pulley information too. Pulleys were fan related clear up through the 1939 standard cars when the crankshaft mounted fans replaced them for 85 & 95 HP V8 engines.

Re: Duel pulley generator The part numbers 4" 51-10130-A
4 3/4. 79-10130- BB or 88 |
Re: Duel pulley generator 4tmike,
Those part numbers verify the info in my previous post. A 79-10130-B is for a 3-brush generator. The "BB" suffix is a bit strange. |
Re: Duel pulley generator The last b part is not very clear. It could very well be a single B , but it looks like there is another character.I do not have a parts book to go by.
I appreciate all the help and info. |
