shock kit recomendations?best vs price?
 

I am going to put some shocks on my car I want the best ride I can get keeping the budget under 350. I have heard of some kits being harsh which kits should be avoided? And which are worth spending more for?

Although Kens are cheaper it is against the law to drill holes in front axel in our country , so I have run snyders , certainly harder riding than stock ones, no problem on the rear of our delivery . I prefer oil over gas , not sure why. nice late Autumn day in NZ

I can recommend the Ken Davis kit. I put them on my '31 pickup and like them.

Ken Davis shocks work very well on my pickup.

For those that don't want to dril the front axle, a bracket like some of the other kits would be easy enough to fabricate.

the ken davis and the berts set up looks like it bolts to the top of the rear crossmember. can those be put on with out lifting the car body off the frame? I dont want a big project.

Does it make any difference which way the (front) shocks are angled. I bought a tube shock set up years ago and the shocks tilt outward at the top. Just yesterday I cross referenced the number on the shocks and they are Monroe "slightly" gas filled shocks. I'm planning a call to Stipe machine this morning.

I love my Ken Davis shocks and can highly recommend them. Keep in mind that they are a bit stiffer than the originals (I think all tube shock conversions are), but personally, I like the stiffer ride. It is not at all uncomfortable and I have good road feel. I find I can really power around the corners with these.

Very easy to install, but yes, you do have to drill one hole in each end of the front axle. Some of the other kits clamp around the axle, and that just doesn't seem a secure to me.
