1950 Grille Mount On a 1950 grille there is fender then the then the inner panel which holds the vent screens and finally the top grille bar. My question is: Does the inner panel bolt between the fender and the upper grille bar or does upper grill bar bolt between the fender and inner panel?
Thanks, Steve |
Re: 1950 Grille Mount 1 Attachment(s)
Suspect that the whole inner panel goes inside of the fender.

Re: 1950 Grille Mount 9 Attachment(s)
Gosh, I have assembled those parts many times but exactitude escapes me. Here's some info from the 49-51 Merc Manual that may help. Not trying to be a smarty pants but you will know when it seems to fit just right without any binding or forcing. Plus, it will look right.

Re: 1950 Grille Mount 12 Attachment(s)
Here's more info. about the front radiator grille opening "surround" removal. 1949 and 50 are same procedure.
May be more helpful if you reverse the removal procedure in your mind so as to simulate installation. |

I now do believe that your assumption is correct, on second thought. I won't delete it, just in case. |
Re: 1950 Grille Mount Hi Guys,
Thanks, it is a 50 Ford. This car was basically apart when I purchased it so has been a challenge to get it back together properly. |
Re: 1950 Grille Mount Smitty.........sorry I didn't see this sooner. On my 50 Ford shown in the avatar, the upper grille bar is sandwiched between the two. I did not put this together so I don't if this is correct or not but it is that way on both sides. Hope this is helpful and not too late.

Re: 1950 Grille Mount Guessing that sandwiched may be correct as the fit seems best like this...
