Remove V8 oil pan on a '37 Ford Sedan Is it possible to remove a V8 oil pan from a '37 Ford Sedan while the motor is in the car? I have all the pan and appropriate transmission bolts out, the the starter is removed as is the wishbone. The pan is loose and I've jacked the motor up as far as it will go (breather hits the firewall) and I can't clear the front crossmember and the crank counterweight to get it out. Are there any tricks? I hate the thought of pulling the motor to change a leaky front seal. Thanks.

Re: Remove V8 oil pan on a '37 Ford Sedan Rotate the crankshaft.

Re: Remove V8 oil pan on a '37 Ford Sedan I did it on my 37 in 1964.
Jack up the car by the frame so that the front suspension hangs down. Jack up the engine. It will come off by dropping and rotating it. |
Re: Remove V8 oil pan on a '37 Ford Sedan I did remove the pan in our 37 coupe back in the 80s. It was a mission but came out. Don't think it matters but our motor was a 99a.

Re: Remove V8 oil pan on a '37 Ford Sedan remove the breather, and anything that will prevent you from getting the motor up as high as you can
