1937 original picup demise
 

well ,I just got the call to go to the hotrod shop and pick up the discarded pieces of my dads old 37. motor and tranny tommorrow tube,rearend and wheels next week
. I guess i should be happy getting all these goodies ,but im a little sad . beutiful orignal truck .my dad was the 3rd owner now my sister and husband got it and are streetrodding it . Booooooooo. dont know what there saving out of the front end ,,,who knows . i guess i should be happy its still in the family another one bites the dust ! and i have to watch ! ouch!

Not to be a smart @$$, but there's plenty of unfinished, and new, whole streetrod chassis out there to grab and drop the body on. For possibly less money than adding a clip to the front and all new axle hung in the rear. Maybe you could convince them to leave the whole of the running gear unmolested, and out from under there in tact? Now, to be a smart-@$$, do you think it'll be pink, purple or yellow when it's done? That must be tough to watch. At least get the unwanted parts, you may find a project that needs those same parts and you could still have some of it in use. Kind of like when someone gets a heart or kidney--the donor lives on!

I know how you feel. I had the same experience but not from a family member. A guy I know has a '37 Tudor. Supposedly a 60,000 mile fairly original car. He wanted to street rod it. His car,his money,his business. I bought the radiator, cross member, engine-tranny, front/rear ends, five good tires-wheels, hub caps-trim rings,steering box with a nice banjo wheel. It was already converted to juice brakes. I'm collecting parts for a '37 pickup. If we cant save the cars we have to save the parts..... right??.... Mark

i picked up the motor and tranny yesterday. allready tucked away in my storage truck. . the guy told me i could come for the tube and rearend tommorrow. original hubcaps still on the rearend. could this be an LB motor ? was running great 2 weeks ago

Not an LB motor, your water pumps are in the block.

That is a 37 engine, you can install 36 and older heads on the front of the block, most won't notice the differance. The 37 is a nice engine. Walt
