redi strip locations
 

i have an 8ba block that is more rusty than greasy, is there a ready strip shop near davenport iowa, or moline ill ? the closest one i found is near chicago, would also like to do shake and bake, but no luck locally, thanks.

The one I had near me in Texas, shut down years ago due to expenses of following EPA regs. I sure miss having that option. You should be able to find one from a Google search, if there still are any out there.

I think they are still in Chicago, Indy, and Vancouver. Don't know for sure.

Still in operation in Roselle,IL. Immersion paint/rust stripping is pricey, but the absolute best.

My engine was done in Kansas City. we also have a Redi Strip in Indianapolis. I think the ones that are still open have a large truck and bus engine business which give them enough volume to comply with all the regulations fro EPA.

I don't know of any redi-strip in the quad cities.

I've had a couple of blocks done and they came back like fresh cast iron. Was years ago and went to the Ill facility. Had to make 2 trips, 1 for drop off and 1 for the pickup. Sure wish they were closer. Body shop I worked at sent an entire car body (70 Merc Cyclone) and it came back looking like fresh sheet metal stamping. Have not been there in 26 years though.
