Thread size
 

On the folding luggage rack that is commonly available, the one with the wood slats, is the thread on the bolts UNC ?
The one I have has full width lock nuts and I would like to replace them with 1/2 width lock nuts.

there are 2 that I can find;
1/4-20 thread
3/8-16 thread

Take the present to the local hardware outlet for a proper sizing. Wayne

Yes, those two sizes are UNC.

Even CHEEP tap & die sets always have a thread gauge in them. Try Harbor Freight, for them.

I`m the wrong side of the pond for HF Bill, I do have a couple of tap & die sets never thought of looking in them, I never use them :o
