"A" Speedster in GA (new guy content) 2 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
Jumping over from the HAMB. Since there is not a intro yourself section I thought I would put it in the section I will hit the most. I am running an original banger powered Model "A" speedster and I am working the bugs out right now. I am loving the new ford barn- SOOOO much easier. You veteran Ford Barn-ers will catch on quick and Ryan is a great admin! |

Re: "A" Speedster in GA (new guy content) I really want to build a speedster. I love the boat tail style. Someday Someday, I wish someday would hurry up and get here!

Re: "A" Speedster in GA (new guy content) Congradulations, nice car; I am certain you will enjoy it. We have a 29 speedster, live near Augusta, Ga. I will try and post picutres later, I seem to be having trouble with this. We are taking our car to a speedster rally in June that is being held near Harrison, Ohio. They will have four days of touring, about 80 miles each day, no hillclimb. If you are interested I will send you The information. We probably will attend a Hillclimb in Sept being held in N.C. This will also have a one day tour. Again, I will be glad to send information. Have a good week.

Re: "A" Speedster in GA (new guy content) Your speedster looks great with Model A wheels or with the 34 V8 wheels. I also want to build one. Nice

If you want to test the durability of your speedster (and you) consider trying the VCRA rally in Bowling Green, KY this summer. It is a time and distance rally similar to the GreatRace. You start in Bowling Green each night and make a route though the surrounding area and go back to Bowling Green. No assigned speeds are greater than 50 MPH.

Re: "A" Speedster in GA (new guy content) Where have I been? Why haven't I seen this thread before? As you may see from my Logo, I, too have a speedster. About five years ago, my son and I decided that we had enough parts laying around in the garage for a good start on a running chassis. We ordered a speedster kit (without fenders) from Rootleib. What we didn't have, we searched for at Hershey. It was a great Father-Son project - designing and making the brackets, headlight mounts, spare tire mount. And it has been a blast to drive. We've gotten wet a few times, but that's part of the fun. It looks like several others on this thread have Rootlieb speedsters, too. The home made ones look great; I admire what you've done. One of the many highlights of our speedster is that we got to drive it around the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio on a "course inspection run". Sad to say, we did not qualify, but we did squeal the tires.
