Shock resistance, main bearing clearances The Service Bulletins show a weighted lever to check shock resistance. Does anyone have a force number in ft. or inch pounds that can be used to check
up and down motion possibly at either extreme of adjustment with shocks on the bench ? Also, the Bulletins list .001 as the design main and connecting rod clearances. Many threads on the BARN, but is .001 the concensus number? |
Re: Shock resistance, main bearing clearances consensus? on a forum?
we shoot for .0015-.002 |
Re: Shock resistance, main bearing clearances I set new at .001-.0015 and don't worry until over .0025.
Isn't the shock test weight shown in the bulletins? |
Re: Shock resistance, main bearing clearances Try searching "shock tool Kurt" or "shock tool Kevin", as I recall either Kevin or Kurt has the tool or found the specs for it and posted them here.
