Finally the 30 AA Restoration

Back from the sandblaster. Let's start getting this thing put back together!!! I have realized that a AA is a whole different animal than any A or T.

Re: Finally the 30 AA Restoration

Scott, looks good, as I look at your sandblasted bare frame with the solid front cross member,it's a 157" wheel base. I just started on a 31 AA,131" wheel base, with parts from all over,in fact the frame had a factory left hand side mount.I have been pretty lucky finding parts at a cost.I found the Left well AA fender from one fella, and the spare tire arm & bracket from another, but the best thing I found for this AA is the drivers door, with the dent in so the door will open a little more,I had only seen these doors in pictures, never at any auto,or truck shows.Your project is way ahead of mind, keep up the good work. It is a 157". The red truck is a picture I found online. GOAL. My project will be the same color. This project was found in a shed in Owensboro, KY a few years ago. My Dad drove it as is for a while and parked it. It went downhill from there. I have parts from all over too, as this is not a "matching number" AA. It will be a fun project, but the heavier parts and fasteners have been a challenge to disassemble.

AA's are a lot of heavy work to restore. I worked on restoring a 1930 AA several years ago and that cured my desire to own one. Actually if I lived in the country I wouldn't mind owning one, but I wouldn't want to restore another one.

its a great feeling when everything is painted and you just put fresh grease on things and assemble it - and knowing you wont ever have to mess with it in your lifetime again haha.

Nice. My AA is my favorite Ford. It's not the fastest or most comfortable but it is fun.
