southwind heater in a `37 truck

hello, i want to install a Southwind heater in my `37 truck, i am having a problem trying to find a location for it where it doesn`t interfere with the cowl vent lever and or back side of the battery box. does anyone have this heater in their `35 - `37 truck?

Hi Tom,
I just pulled one out of my 37' pick up. I am replacing it with another one that works. I can send you the dimensions and locations of the holes on the Firewall if that will help. Thanks, Brent

I never understood the concept of having a gas fired burning fire in the closed space of a cab.

There are manuals on eBay off and on. Give you all the info you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask. I spent a lot of time rebuilding one with NOS parts and it is working just fine. A great learning experience. They are really simple, and safe in my opinion. I have never heard anything except good things about them from people who are in the know. A lot of old wives tales, but never supported by any facts that I have heard of. Military used a lot of them back in the day.

I had a SouthWind in my car when I was in High School, it was the best heater I have ever had in any car. Love the thing.
