Pressure regulator ? Hey Guys ! I have a Facet Posi Flow electric pump on a recently acquired '37 w/ a 59AB . The carb is a Holley 94 . The manufacture says this pump puts out between 1.5 and 4 lbs. pressure . This pump was only on the car for a few miles prior to me purchasing it .
The car runs fine so far without a regulator . Do you think I should install one , or should I be ok as is ? Thanks - FF |
Re: Pressure regulator ? I would leave it as is, but might add a pressure gauge just to be sure

Re: Pressure regulator ? With delivery pressure above spec, will this lead to trouble with the pump over powering the needle valve?
Is it more likely to flood when hot? |
Re: Pressure regulator ? Mine is setup as kahuna/Jim suggested (with gauge) works fine

Re: Pressure regulator ? Took Mine off...Running just like new again
Touch Wood:eek: |
Re: Pressure regulator ? If it ain't brpke don't fix it. That's about where the lbs. should be.

Re: Pressure regulator ? If you have 4#, that good go drive it.... People keep talking about 1-1/2 to 3 lbs. pressure all the time. But, Fords Manual lists the pressure spec. at 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 for the 94 carb. I installed a new stock pump a year ago and have driving it with
no overflow at all. I have a steel needle in the carb. |
Re: Pressure regulator ? If you don't have one now, I would install an inline fuel filter.

Re: Pressure regulator ? If you have any questions about the facet pump, call Purolater in NY where they are made. The tech folks are very helpful.
The Facet pump is solid state, self regulating, so it minds it's own business. It is used on experimental aircraft. Got the one I amusing as a backup to the mechanical from Aircraft & Spruce. |
Re: Pressure regulator ? You won't need a pressure gauge but if you decide to put one on, put it in the engine compartment unless it is certified for cockpit installation. Reason should be obvious.

Re: Pressure regulator ? Yes , I had read that it was " self regulating " , I was just curious as to what you guys thought . I believe I will leave things as is here .
I don't like fixing stuff that isn't broke , if I don't have to ! Thanks to all who replied - FF |
