Who makes the best brake light switch?

Ok who makes the best brake light switch? It needs to have the oem style pin connectors on the back. I have heard some horror stories regarding them. Thanks.

I think that new old stock 6 volt would be the best.
Echlin SL133 now on epay 181572414988 that's is a push in pin
Echlin SL 134 is a push ON type.
Any old stock before 1955

Re: Who makes the best brake light switch?

"the best" probably is a relative term. Depends on manufacturer, type of fluid possibly and am't of use. If your car gets driven once a month any switch probably will last a long time and if it's driven constantly it MAY also last forever. Personally I've never had a brake switch fail and I have 250K miles on my '41 Ford. I think my switch came from Mac's 20 yrs ago and I've used it with standand bulbs, halogen and LEDs. It's probably like every thing else, some are good and some are just better

I had 3 fail until I went with a Harley switch. Original style switches DO NOT like silicone fluid. The terminals are of the spade design and it is very easy to convert.

A lot of people go to mechanical switch they were very common on 50s Chevy.
very easy to buy Speedway NADA 1952 Chevy switch.

After 2 of the cheap $6 ones, I have had success with Motorcraft brake switch.

I echo what deucemac says. No problem with Harley switch using silicone fluid.

I think I will just order one from Mac's. It is going to be driven regularly so hopefully I will have no issues. Does anybody make the female connector that is part of the harness that connects to the switch? Mine kinda crumbled when I took them off.
