need help - cabriolet side window bumpers 2 Attachment(s)
I have searched for information as to where these bumpers are supposed to be attached on my '32 and I have examined my doors and cannot find any logical place for them. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks Bob |
Re: need help - cabriolet side window bumpers Not sure these were used on a 32, but on my 35, with the window in the down position you should see the slots for the rubber on each side of the window. I went with modern cat whiskers instead which works better.

Re: need help - cabriolet side window bumpers Thanks PlanoJC. I am beginning to think that you are correct that the '32 cabriolet did not use these rubber bumpers even tho Bob Drake reproductions lists them as being a 32 part. I do not find any slots next to my window glass like the ones that you mention. The doors did have cat whiskers (very worn) when I got the car.

Re: need help - cabriolet side window bumpers I'm deep into a 34 Cabriolet restoration and am presently addressing what to do with the window rubbers. Are 'cats whiskers' readily available? And how did you fix the cat's whiskers to the metal? Are they used to prevent water getting into the door, or purely anti-rattle?
I am presently searching for a left hand side cabriolet window regulator, so if anyone out there knows of one I'd be grateful for a heads-up. I'm happy to buy a pair if needs be. Thanks, James |
Re: need help - cabriolet side window bumpers They go into the moldings that fit on top of the door. Some moldings, however, were configured differently and didn't use them.
