Windshield seal Where do ya'll recommend buying a seal. Drake's seal is 50 bucks and Carpenter's is 20.00. The one I'm working with now came from Drake.

Re: Windshield seal I have a Carpenter seal and had trouble with wind noise/water penetration until several adjustments of the frame-to-window fitment. Now it works fine. I understand that the moulded corners of the Drake seal fit better for many but haven't installed one.

Re: Windshield seal You may have to end up buying from both and comparing yourself. 28 years ago I bought all my window seals from Dennis Carpenter for a 53 F-100,no other choice at the time as I remember. Absolutely fit great for windshield and back glass so when I did my 37 coupe few years ago bought everything from Dennis, nothing fit correctly ,sent back and ordered Drakes, fit great. Must depend on the year and luck I guess.

Re: Windshield seal Maybe a seal is cheap to begin with, but doesn't the bill for the fish for them add up quickly? Also, what about shipping? Is everything dry ice?

30 years ago, I installed the DRAKE seal and it fit just fine and dandy all the way around. No problems after all the years.

Re: Windshield seal I have used the LMC Truck "imported seal". No Problems.

Re: Windshield seal I ordered a windshield gasket for my '47 convertible from Carpenter, and they sent me the one for the closed car. I called them, and they said "they are all the same". Wrong. The right one came from Drake.

Re: Windshield seal I buy a seal from all known sources for the application, inspect, dry fit etc. and choose the best one. Return the others. Expensive yes but how else will you know?
