Dana,

Is this 4,477,9?? a frame number or an engine number and does the enging number match the frame number OR is the engine number a restamp?

By the way...44779?? was part of 20,000 Omitted Numbers from the USA production and those numbers were sent to England (I think) for their engine numbers on March 23, 1931.

Is this a restamp or the real deal? Photo???

No one knows for sure what the last Production Model A was or when it came off the assembly line.

The plants continued making Model A and AA's, using up existing inventory way into 1932, especially the foreign plants. The cars were perty much faded out in January 1932 but lots of AA's were assembled domesticly.

Only 38 Model A's in January 1932 then perty much nothing as the V8's started in April 1932.

For the USA, Domesticly, December 1931 showed the following for "Coupes" (No coupes in 1932):

Std. Coupe: 327;
Sport Coupe: 97;
DeLuxe Coupe: 53.

Re: Last 31 coupe serial number

since the last number in December 1931 was 4,830,806(didn't even factor in the 1932 cars made)
and your number was 4,477,9XX then there were at least 353,000 model As made after yours
im sure a god percentage was coupes
just say 10% ,that would make at least 35,000 coupes

Re: Last 31 coupe serial number

5 months into 1928, with a stumbling production of THE NEW FORD as it struggled to 'find its legs' , the Ford factory at the River Rouge was still producing parts for the Ford Model T. How much further (if any) into 1928 I do not know. No Model T's were produced, but there was a huge effort put into producing a vast amount of parts to fill the needs of the already produced 15 million Model T's.

How much of this 'Parts Supply' effort went into the Model A after its production ceased in early 1932, I do not know.

Steve, I don't know if it is numbers matching, going to see what is on my title today. How much of a job is it to get to frame numbers with iPhone.
Thanks
Dana

Re: Last 31 coupe serial number

Is there a reason people are listing the numbers with the end numbers as ? and not the real number?

I think some of us are paranoid that someone else will try to work a scam on our assets if we give detailed serial numbers, whether it be cars, guns or whatever.

The ones that get me is the people who have a car for sale and block out the plate #s ?? For what ??... Turn around and drive down the road & see them, some even still have a For Sale sign with phone # in the window ??..
