does anybody put anti freeze in the water of a model T over winter..if so what quantities?

Yes, many people do use antifreeze. Use the same ratio you use in your modern car - 50/50. 1925 Ford specifications show this capacity:

Total Capacity – 25 pints

Capacity Water Jackets and Hose – 5 quarts



These would be US capacities, not Imperial measure.



Antifreeze provides corrosion protection as well a freezing protection.

I start at 50/50 then add until good for -40c, I leave it in all year round without any problems.

Anti-Freeze
 







The other side of snti freeze is it raises the boiling point of the coolant. The 15 boiled constantly (breathe hard and you'd get tea time) until I did the 50/50 mix - now, it almost never steams up.
