Manhattan

I've never seen so many '41 Fords in one place. Check out the series on WGN. I love the attention to detail but then you see a '34 Sedan with blue dots.

I'd bet, if you found a 1934 auto accessory catalog, you'd find "blue dots" in it. I think they've been around almost as long as taillights.:)

I watched Manhattan last night. Yes, lots of 41 Fords for sure. What year did the Manhattan project begin? Looks like it will be a pretty good series.

According to Wikipedia (if you choose to believe what you read there) the Manhattan Project was started in 1939...

We had blue dots in the 40's. I don't know when they started but if I recall a few of the big expensive cars had them in the early 30's. G.M.

As early as the 20's as this 24' Packard

And what about what appears to be a 46'-48' stretched Ford Limo, when the first bomb was dropped in 1945 ?

What was the original reason for the blu dots?

The red and blue sort of mix together to form a magenta which has more "pop" than just plain red. It does catch your eye better.

Fellows though they were cool in the 50's. I could not find a set for my 49 Dodge back then. Did have skirts and a split exhaust with stock mufflers. Also fake white walls which most of us had. Good old days I guess.

Simple, they couldn't make up their minds on whether to make tail/stop lights red or blue. The indecision lights were used until they finally decided on RED. :D
