Be careful with the ignition, the original switch is wired to ground not
to the starter or any hot wire.

Whew, your posts are hard to read w/o spacing between some words, but then maybe I'm old too (68).
I suggest hooking everything up sans light switch, which should at least (I think) allow your stoplights to work. Hang the light switch part with a string or something insulated, just in case, and give that a go until you locate a stock switch. You won't have headlights though, so don't drive after dark!
Had the same problem with my '29 pickup. Finally got a stock switch. They are easy to find. Another part of the problem really is the repro harness switch, but oh well..... Ned.

Here we go. For the best and easiest to follow wiring diagram, look on page 94 of the newest Brattons catalog. If you don't have a Brattons catalog call 800-255-1929 , the catalog is free. Not only do the\y list the parts , this catalog is my best quick referance for wiring diagrams, exploded digrams, bolt sizes, thread counts and most tecnical information that you will ever need to keep your model A running . I hope this will help.

You will see that Purdy's verbage follows the diagram. You still need the point to point wiring the diagram shows.
