I use it to do the timing on my FS ignition system. I works OK. You need to mark the TDC point on your crank pulley and use a timing light. I don't think it would add much to the standard ignition system though. Timing that is pretty simple.

I agree with Dick Deegan !!! The cam wrench is the only thing that would be of benefit for setting timing in the normal way. The model A is a simple car that was made for the common man. The timing pin has always worked for me,. The timing pin is all that I need to locate top dead center on number one. The rest is just common sense.

Yup! It's interesting to see how much advance you are actually getting when you advance the spark lever. Also puts your mind at ease that you are not giving that $3,000.00 rebuild too much advance. was well worth the price!
