scrap or usable water pumps

This is not fishing expedition to get prices or see if someone is interested. I, like most here, have built up a collection of assorted water pumps to be spares if necessary. This is a carry over from the days before they were being re-pro'd. So, I am trying to do a bit of house cleaning and just wonder if there is any reason to keep these now or should they go in the scrap metal pile. Seems to me that their only worth above scrap may be keeping the pulleys. Opinions?

If the castings are OEM and the water inlets are still in fairly decent condition for the inevitable cancer that they get, I would have a hard time sending them to recycle. The pulleys wear out too so those could be keepers if in good condition. I rebuild my own pumps though. A lot of folks probably don't. Maybe Skip might need some cores if they are good.

Lots of guys prefer original parts and rebuild they're own rather than buy new. I just hate to see FH parts being scrapped when someone may have a use for them. I think I'd offer them for sale at a reasonable price and see if there is any interest.

I have sold some on E-bay and think I have averaged close to $15 each. I have some advertized here at $15 each and so far no sale. may puty them on E-bay at some point, but with frequent trips to Omaha I am trying not to have alot listed there right now as I can not always ship quickly. Rod

I did not even think of the OEM significance. Obviously I am just trying to clean out some parts that I will never use, but I would not want to throw out something that someone might want for a correct restoration. Thanks guys.

Put them on eBay overseas people have to pay a lot of money to ship there pumps to Skip. Often they buy them on Ebay and have the seller ship them to Skip. I would advertise cores with pulley's that could be shipped direct to Skip for rebuilding. G.M.
