1932 2 Door, Door Glass Pattern Would anyone know where I could find an accurate pattern for door glass, for a 32, 2 door sedan. I have the windshield, rear quarter, and rear, but somewhere along the way I lost my door glass.
Thanks ReggieK |
Re: 1932 2 Door, Door Glass Pattern Still looking for a door glass pattern. Thinking about having glass cut locally instead of ordering. I welcome any input on this.

For sure. |
Re: 1932 2 Door, Door Glass Pattern I would think you are correct. Only DavidG could answer that question.
Thanks, ReggieK |
Re: 1932 2 Door, Door Glass Pattern Joe's Antique Auto lists glass patterns but not for '32's. He does sell complete glass kits though. You might give him a call He might be able to assist or at least direct you to someone who can.

Here is a pattern drawing I made from an original door window for a '32 five window coupe. It may be a place to start if you need to generate your own pattern. The other picture shows the offset of the glass in the bottom frame.

Re: 1932 2 Door, Door Glass Pattern I'm a little surprised, and would not think it so difficult. When I bought glass for a 33 sedan, I found a local glass guy that had patterns. I don't know about 32, though. But my point is, have you really checked around with local glass guys? What I found is that some of them have a large 'table', that resembles a drafting table, and built into it is a 'scroll', with LOTS of old patterns on it. I saw over-laying patterns with names of many, many makes of different cars. I'd be real surprised if something as common as a 32 tudor is not in there. The patterns are over-laying, as I said, so it would be nearly impossible to get the pattern you want, without owning one of these machines. But, if you find the guy that has the machine, he might let you trace the pattern you need??
There are several old-car-glass-guys that advertise. I know of at least three in my area. If you can't find one in your area, maybe you could coerce one of us to go trace a pattern for you??? The glass guy that I used is called Street Rod Glass, Riverside ca. Maybe you could get him to trace a pattern for you??? 951-789-8870, fax 951-789-8707, email [email protected], Carson Hobson (But, there's gotta be a glass guy closer to home) Just a thought, JMO (PS... The example I gave, SR Glass, does mail order. The last glass I bought from him was done mail order, delivered to my door. Just another thought. Also, Other sources that advertise in the mags do mail order. I also got the 'setting-tape', or whatever it's called, that sticks the glass in the regulator channel. It was/is the thinnest he had, that worked on my 33 door class.) |
