Mounting radiator

Does anyone have an accurate diagram, or can draw an accurate diagram of the mounting hardware for a 1946 Ford. ALSO, where is the oil return from the filter? I know it's not on the pan or on the block like the later models. Maybe, these are dumb questions?

On the radiator, are you referring to the hardware? On my car ('48) the radiator has a big round hole with a square slot on each side up toward the top. The car has an identical feature where the radiator fastens (p/n 16141 panel). The fastener is a carriage bolt about 5/16 coarse thread with a lock washer and nut. There is an oblong washer with a square hole and a tab on it that goes into the hole in the car panel. The tab goes facing up into the big hole to keep the carriage bolt pushed down in the slot. The carriage bolt is inserted through the panel into the big hole in the radiator and slides down so the square on the carriage bolt goes into both slots. Then the big oblong washer is put on the screw and the lock washer and then the nut. I looked in the green book for these parts but havn't found them yet. You might get them on ebay or Macs. The bottom tab on the radiator sits on the frame and uses a 3/8 SAE bolt with a locking nut to the frame on each side. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

The oil filter was not standard equipment on the 46. The return STEEL line
goes to a fitting on the oil pan in front of the dip stick base. (2 or 3 inches) This was not standard either.(the dealer had to install it.) The oil filter became standard in 1947-48 and the return line went into a fitting ON the dip stick base. See the EFV8 restoration book for a good picture of this.
