Low speed generator Group
Any body know part number, or have info on field coils used on generator with bulbous case from about 1937. The case was made to take large coils so it would charge at low speeds. I think the # might be 79-10000A, but not sure. Any info would be welcome, as I have one here to repair for a club member. Gary |
Re: Low speed generator That is a high output generator, circa 1936, used in police cars and generally on cars with a radio. I had one on my 36 Club Cabriolet at a national meet. The judges were going to gig me for wrong generator but the Deputy, knowing what it was just kept quiet for quite a while, listening to the judges. Then he explained what it was.

Re: Low speed generator It could be totally different as I don't have the book with me right now... but I am recalling some info on this in the 38/39 book from EFV8. I was thinking it was a smaller pulley though, not larger case, which may be the difference after '37...
A place to look though just in case. Zach |

I believe you can have a motor shop wind coils for you. Look around for an older electrican/motor shop mechanic. Bruce Works good Lasts long time |
