Re: hinge rivets removal Probably the best way is to carefully drill them out. I have drilled out many rivets on my A's. I first take a sharp pointed punch and make a small endentation in the exact center of the rivet head (round, flat or brazier head). I then select a small drill bit, maybe 3/32" and drill a hole in the rivet. I don't drill all the way through (maybe 2/3 of the way). The reason I don't drill all the way though is so I can take a punch and drive the rivet out when the head is removed. Now back to the drilling. After drilling a small hole, I take a little larger drill and redrill the small hole larger, making sure the hole is in the exact center of the rivet. I then take a drill bit, either the same size or just slightly larger than the rivet diameter and carefully drill the hole (don't drill all the way through the hole with the slightly larger drill bit as the slightly larger drill bit will usually cause the rivet head to spin off, which is all you want with a little larger bit). At this point the rivet head will be loose or get caught by the drill and spin. Now you can take a larger punch and knock the rivet on through the hole. It takes a little patience to remove rivets this way, but in almost all cases, the original hole in the part is not enlarged or damaged. Hope this helps.
