power steering 1953 Monarch

 HELP!!!! I am looking for some info on what power steering or rack and pinion I can adapt to work on my 1953 Monarch. I know these cars came with power steering from the factory but I am looking to add a newer system. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I wonder if the 'Toyota' power steering conversion that is so popular on trucks of that era is a candidate. I imagine you have a straight axle. Some picture of the conversion on my 53 F100 here may give you an idea on feasbility.

Thought that 53' Monarch was Canadian version of Mercury car, not a pickup.

You are more likely to get info on the H.A.M.B. forum of the Jalopy journal
