Lincoln Condenser assistance

1 Attachment(s)
I am in need of condensers that are compatible with 36-48 V12 ignition condensers. i have tried several but do not know the uF of the originals. The attached is one of the replacements, the originals had "Zephyr" on it.
Looking for compatible drivers, not show. thanks

When I do a dual coil Zephyr, I unsolder mount tab from the original cap
and resolder it to a Napa FA49 that fits 36-41. Works great.

FWIW, the bulletins show H-12300 as having .31--.34 microfarads, 210 degree leakage spec is 3 ohms minimum resistance.

Earle Brown has replacement condensers for Lincolns. Check out LZOC.com and go to sponsors for his ad.

I think Bubba would recommend a modern condenser. More likely to be reliable.

Most modern condensors will work ok in your vehicle although they tend to be a bit low in capacity, typically around .2 to .25 micro farads. Better to have up around .3 to .34 micro farads for early ford V8s lincolns etc. You would need a condenser tester to test them, preferably an automotive type that tests capacity, leakage and series resistance. Maybe a local auto electrical shop could do this for you. Multimeter testers which test capacity dont do the other tests which are important. If the capacity is too low or high and not matched to the ignition coil too well the distributer contacts will burn and become pitted more quickly. I have tested many new old stock and also new repro condensers which do not come up to specification. Hope this helps, regards, Kevin.

I would check with Pat Mason at Mason Racing Ignitions. I understand that the best condenser out there is the Vertex.
