A sad day Sold my 31 coupe two days ago, kinda sad in a way, I bought it four years ago and have never had more fun with any hobby, when I bought it, it needed some minor body work, paint, and new tires, I did all of that plus a lot more, it looked like and ran like new when I sold it.
I have always enjoyed coming to this forum, so many nice people here, and so much "A" model knowledge, you are a great bunch of folks. I will be coming back to see what you folks are up to. Thanks for all the help and advice over the last four years ;). By the way, I paid $12,000 for it four years ago, and sold it for $15,000, I know I lost my azz money wise, but fun wise I won big time. I'LL BE BACK :D. |

Re: A sad day Louis,
What method did you use to sell the car ? Marc |
Re: A sad day Marc,
I ran an add in the lcl. news paper, $60 for 30 days, 4-6 people came to look and I took them for a ride, the last guy said he wanted it and gave me $50 to hold it, the next day he called and said he had the rest, after it sold the next day 3 more people called about it before I could canx. the add. zzlegend, Yes, I still have my Harley and my 72 VW bug to set my azz on, but I miss the "A" every time I go out to the garage :(. |

Well I could tell you not to go out to the garage anymore:confused: But it time you will get over it. I just sold my 65 Honda scrambler that I have had for 25 years.and I still go out there from time to time and look at the oil stain it left me. |
Re: A sad day Louis,
Thanks for the information. Good to hear that the local newspapers still work for sales. Marc |
Re: A sad day Louis, that is a tough row to hoe, over the years I have had to sell things that I really did not want to. Especially when the kids were young. But sometimes you need to get rid of old memories to make room for new ones. And think of the opportunities for memories that you passed on to that fellow who bought your A. Your sad day is one of his best. Your best days are still yet to come.
