59 ab

I recently received a flathead block without the studs screwed in. I know there is 3 different sizes, but I don't know which one goes where. Does anyone have a "map" as to the layout of the studs??
Thanks

Do you have a head? Look carefully at the thickness of the head, you should be able to see the three distinct lengths.

If you have aftermarket heads, you may need different length than stock, is as much as you might need the long ones all the way around.

As a general rule, the longest studs go nearest the intake manifold and shortest nearest the exhaust manifold. The in-betweenies go, well, in between the longest and shortest. 8^)

Use bolts.

Put the head in place, or on a table- drop studs in holes... The amount left exposed on top should be about equal... And, seems (my memory) the in between size is only two studs, go in the centerish row, about 1/4-1/3 of the way from the end...
I would install with non hardening permattex- NOT silicone.
