Tubular rivet tool needed
 

Can someone tell me where I can buy a tubular rivet tool? I need to replace the rivets that hold the hood leather corners on.

Try a leather store such as Tandy's, or any motorcycle leather shop....

I'm pretty sure I used the brake rivet tool I bought from Bratton's many years ago.
Putting a drop of oil on the handheld rivet tool helps it make a neat rolled lip.

tonka toys .... c clamp made into tub rivit tool....works great.

There are two good ones available IMO. I happen to own both but the one we are most partial to is to one that is made from a clamp and used in the Tonka Toy truck restoration, --or one used in riveting linings onto Model-T Ford transmission bands. Both of these are available on eBay all the time. Below are a couple of pictures showing what to look for.

When you have one that requires the use of a hammer, then you need a minimum of 3 hands and you run a huge risk of a misplaced blow.

What I found worked great was my floor mounted kick riveter used to set brake shoe rivets.

One person holds the part the other does the fine line up and kick.

So if you know of someone that will give you the 10 minutes on their machine you need ask. I am too far south unless you are planing a trip to Atlantic City, NJ then you just need to go 8 minutes out of your way.

I used little tiny machine screws from loew's, nuts, lockwashers, cut the screws real short, little dab of black paint on the screw head, looks like it's rivited. FWIW
