33 Tudor restoration project - Part 1

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...001996c92b.jpg

The day it all started in June 2011. Just picked up the "barn" find and transported it to the shop

I have received innumerable tips and great suggestions from many Barners I have never met in person but I am so grateful for havingc infeted with this incurable "flatties car loving" disease. It has been a fantastic time and sure will keep on going. So here it is, my first old Ford, a 33 Tudor Sedan with a model B engine, located in Paraguay, South America.

Disassembly and metal work repair in progress. Everything removed. Pockets of rust found in usual places including a bit on one frame rail

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...r2Sept2011.jpg

Frame patched with thick steel plates. Front and rear axle will come out shortly after

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...al1Aug2011.jpg

Engine, transmission, brake, clutch, all original. VIN number on shiny spot on L rail

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...al1Oct2011.jpg

Rear end. Everything there but in need of restoration

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...merOct2011.jpg

Frame on primer

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...sh-Oct2011.jpg

Frame finished on glossy polyurethane black. No sandblasting available so everything repaired by hand. Lots of sanding went here!

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...ameNov2011.jpg

Repaired shell bolted to frame early on to assure good alignment.

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...yforprimer.jpg

All body parts reassembled to fine tune alignment, finish priming and ready to paint

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...e1-Dec2011.jpg

Original grille before repair

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...redNov2012.jpg

Grille ready waiting its turn to be mounted. Rechroming not top notch in this part of the world but decent

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...ar1Jul2011.jpg

Rear brakes with original style woven lining. Have Ted's energizer kit but will wait until we finish, adjust, etc and then place it

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...merDec2012.jpg

All 5 17" wheels restored, on primer

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...ld4Jan2013.jpg

Front axle being rebuilt

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/...ed2Jan2013.jpg

Rear axle being reassembled. Drums, springs, brakes all done

Part 2 will follow shortly. Apparently there is a limit of 20 pictures that can be added to a post, so I will do it separately

We're some of the photo's reversed? The frame photo looks right hand drive but the other photo shoes left hand drive.

Jim,

They seem to be consistently RHD (unlike a '32, both the right and left chassis frame rails were made to accommodate both LHD and RHD steering on all 112" wheelbase chassis).

Caught me again. I feel like Grasshopper in kungFu. The second picture looked like RHD to me. Looking a second time I can see it differently

Jim,

It's the ones where you think are LHD where you're mistaken. It was originally a RHD car and it is being restored that way.
