Tips Removing slight pitting

I bought a chrome roadster windshield probably from the 60's . Had slight rust pits . Any thoughts on how to clean it up a bit. It's very slight

As per @chrs1961815 and if you are not having much luck add a little Autosol to the steel wool

More polishing is about all you can do for plated surfaces. It can be polished through the chrome so a person doesn't want to get carried away if using buff wheels.

Try rubbing the chrome with aluminum foil. http://www.slipperyrockgazette.net/i...fm/pageId/1948

When I first started working the used car lot had a jar of mercury, the bad spot war treated with mercury to make it look okay

Tin foil dipped in Pepsi or Coke... phosphoric acid helps
