Carburetor base gasket The base gasket on my Tillotson carburetor is leaking, can I skip the gasket and use permatex liquid gasket or just cut a new one out from sheet gasket?

Re: Carburetor base gasket Not an expert on Tillotson but they tend to warp so make sure the surfaces are flat. I would not recommend using a liquid gasket. Gaskets are available or cut your own. Don't over tighten the screws.

Re: Carburetor base gasket Make or buy a gasket !

Re: Carburetor base gasket I checked it and it is straight, I don't think I over torqued them, maybe not tight enough. I will make one tonight from 1/32 material and re-torque them after running a while.
Thanks |
Re: Carburetor base gasket Good thick material helps keep heat away from the carburetor base. 1/32" is pretty thin for a base gasket.
