Horn Windings 1 Attachment(s)
Just opened up my horn and the windings look kind of sloppy. See attached picture. Is this normal?

Re: Horn Windings Pretty much normal. Sloppier is better, I've read, but it actually doesn't make a lot of difference.

Re: Horn Windings Those sloppy windings look are typical of what I find in original Sparton and Stewart Warner horns.

Re: Horn Windings Stuff was not machine wound in a lot of cases during the model A era. They don't have to look good to work. The main thing is that they have the right gauge wire and the right number of turns to make the coil work as intended.
