1941 59A starter rebuilder Hi fellas - my 41 Ford with 59A engine had its starter motor give up
I run a 12 volt electrical system but use the 6 volt starter. I'm not looking to debate the 12 vs 6 volt topic, though will appreciate any leads on contact information of a quality rebuilder that you had good results from. In the Ford V8 club there are water pump and coil / distributor rebuilders but I can't see starter guys? Thanks John |
Re: 1941 59A starter rebuilder I'd look locally for a alternator rebuilder that could do it. We have several old shops that do electrical repairs, starter or alt/ gen rebuilding. You must have someone in an area of your size town that does them. I'd say look in the yellow pages of a phone book, but if they're like what we get, they're a joke. Look online in the phone books.

Re: 1941 59A starter rebuilder John, You can rebuild your starter, just use the thinner end plate for the 59A as suggested in post 2 and 4 here. You will be surprised at how easy it is to do.
