2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Not a Ford but I thought you would enjoy this Jay Leno Video and watch it to the end it was NOT supposed to go this way!
“This has been on my bucket list since I was a kid,” says car enthusiast Jay Leno of driving the Hemi Under Glass, a 2,500-horsepower Plymouth Barracuda first introduced in the 1960s, with its massive engine situated in the rear of the car, surrounded by glass, known for the way its front end rockets skyward when the driver accelerates. Jay finally got to cross this particular item off his list, taking a spin in the 'Hemi Under Glass' with its inventor, Bob Riggle. https://www.youtube.com/embed/LabX19ocJZA |
Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Wow! That's a pricey rollover.

Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Wow.... what can I say. I love Jays show, but his haircut is looking more and more like Donald's, these days.

Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? The sad thing is the drag strip is on the other side of that wall. I still don't know why they weren't on the drag strip.

Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? I saw that episode of Leno's garage. I imagine that he had to go back to the garage and change his pants. Way too much fun!
That would be like a pilot giving a person there first helicopter ride and crash landing. They would never forget a ride like that if they survive it. They'd likely never get in one again either. |
Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Fortunately that crash wasn't in the original car,
so nowhere near as costly. The original version had a straight front axle. |
Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Wild ride but it only about sheet metal, paint and money from people that can afford the ride.
|
Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? Stop the video at 3:05.. That car had a straight axle.

Not that anyone here gives a hoot, but the original Hemi Under Glass was a 1965 Barracuda, and did NOT have a straight axle. The one they rolled is a clone, but is a 1967 Barracuda. ;) . |
Re: 2500 H.P. - What could possibly go wrong?? There were more than 1 under glass cars over the years. The First one indeed had no tube axle others may have had them. They were campaigned by Hurst
