New member and project

Hey guys, I’m new to the hobby. By chance I was able to get a free 29 Tudor from my neighbor, only catch was I had to dig it out. Yup! Dig it out! Super stoked on it and it has the best patina around. I’ve been around the hot rod stuff since I work at a hot rod shop as a welder/fabricator. This is my first model A. I wanted to share with you guys from digging it out to putting it on a frame and driving. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7f99e41ac7.jpg

Re: New member and project

I was able to score a completely car from an older couple. Car had been stored for 30+ years but in boxes and halfway back to fully restore. Decided I would keep the frame, drive gear since it had already been restored and has a title. So if anyone is looking for parts I have a lot of them. My trailer, suv, and the car I purchased where loaded down with parts.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...417118e2c2.jpg

Re: New member and project

Got it to sit on the frame fairly nice but it does have a twist to it, so I’ll have to play with a torch and see if I can get her back straight. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...36eeae69a7.jpg

Thanks guys, at this point I’m trying to get the twist out of the body. Body mounting points line up but need some massaging into place.

Welcome, keep us entertained with your progress and photos. Please add your location to your personal information. It can at times help us to help you. I presume your rural, as not many left to be dug out these days.

WOW!!! Wonderful! Quite a project; you are braver (and probably younger) than I am. Best of luck and keep us posted.

Re: New member and project

Jrsaw, I’m not that young. About to turn 37. But yea I’ve been know to be pretty brave. I’ve rebuilt and restored a few vehicles, have hand built a 73 bronco piece by piece. So I’m sure this will be a lot easier with access to every tool in my shop. And knowledge from my boss who has been in the game for a while.

Re: New member and project

There are a few MAFCA chapters in your area. They would be a good source of information and or help.

The Central Coast is a great area. There are a couple of wineries in Creston.

We like to stay in SLO and drive to Cambria for Lunch or dinner at Robin’s Cafe and a slice of Pie at Linn’s Restaurant.

A great afternoon is visiting the Firestone Walker Brewery and the wineries west of Paso Robles on State Highway 46.

Hope you have all the parts for that Kari-Keen Trunk on the trailer!

Does it still have the original "tag" within?

Pluck
