No one?
Well I bored it with a new 11/16" end mill.
Then I turned a piece of yellow brass .625" id, and .698" od.
Will finish the od tomorrow.
Pictures I hope.

So...what is going on here? Damaged casting?

Re: 97 carb

There were corrosion pits in the lower 1/2" of the well.
The sleeve is in and the slot cut down to original depth.
Looks good to go.
I will try to post pictures when it is finished.

This is what happens when people use 97's to collect rain water for their indoor plants... If you're successful with the repair - and willing - I might send you a few from my bonepile.

Cleaned up everything, and reassembled. From the speedway master 97 rebuild kit
I was unable to use;
jets
needle valve and seat
Accelerator pump

$43.00 for gaskets?
Its all good. Starts good, runs, and does not leak.

Hi Dude
I have been retired 13 years, and do not have any customers.
I will have to drive the car for awhile to see if this modification is sucessful.

Jut saw your post and you are right on the money cmbrucew the brass works great for a long term fix.Its harder than the die cast and easy to machine.

I don't remember. but I did put a light cote of locktite on before pressing in.
Much easier to buy a body from Uncle Max.
