Steering box & steering arm Well i have not been on hear for a while & as usual i have a question! to start with i finally found a two tooth steering box/sector & have it rebuilt & just about ready to install it on my 29 & by the way i see why every one wants to use them! they can be adjusted down so fine that there is no center play & i believe it is going to be easier to steer! & it is going to be bunches better than my seven tooth ever was.so much for that! i also bought a easy steer kit to go in the ends or the tie rod & drag link! i have found that some of the round balls are egged shaped a bit. my question is can i replace the balls or do i have to buy the complete steering arm? i replaced the one on pitman arm, no problem! just not Shure about the steering arm.

Re: Steering box & steering arm The balls are replaceable... but take note that they are not perpendicular to the shaft. A club member here in the Chicago area made a fixture for this purpose. He cuts off the old ball, drills out the stub, taps it and screws in a new ball, that we had made some years ago as a club. He then has the new ball tig welded at the bottom to keep it from unscrewing. I believe that there are available replacements that will fit over a stem/stud that is left after you cut off the original ball, leaving the stem/stud sticking up. This ball is then welded on to keep it in place.

Re: Steering box & steering arm thanks! i drilled the one out on the pitman arm & welded it back no problem, so i may try to do this.
