Ground wire to Universal housing? current project is attempting to fix Speedometer issue, (replacing Driveshaft bearing/sleeve, seal, thrust washer and snapring) to much slop and eating the speedometer drive gear.
Universal joint cover was a b***h to get loose, in hindsight should have removed the floor boards and gone thru the top, the battery ground was connected at the top of the U-joint housing, is this normal or was it just easier when the car was being restored and no floor boards, any thoughts? Also anything I should look out for in, when I pull the drive shaft out, (all ready dropped the diff.) |
Re: Ground wire to Universal housing? my battery ground strap goes from battery to frame center crossmember, then using the same bolt, another strap goes from center crossmember over to a transmission top bolt. Taht way I have direct ground from battery to frame and direct to transmission/engine.

Re: Ground wire to Universal housing? Any thoughts :-) remove the floor boards and work from above. I get vertigo when working above my head.

Re: Ground wire to Universal housing? The 2-strap system Ken uses is a good idea.
