Cast Iron Pieces Do the judges in F/P look for the Delta Mark and - scores with out it ??
|
Re: Cast Iron Pieces not that I know of. there is just not enough information about the Delta markings out there. some say that the markings are on early parts are different then later parts. I do not see it that way, and I deal with a lot of Model A parts.

Re: Cast Iron Pieces Delta mark is mentioned in area 5, Exhaust manifold. I'm not sure about the scoring .

Re: Cast Iron Pieces The delta marks are also mentioned in the engine compartment section and therefore need to be considered in the judging process.

Yup, if it is in the book they look for it and will score your car accordingly if it does not match the book. |
Re: Cast Iron Pieces A while back someone wrote up a real nice article, either in the Restorer or Model A News about the delta markings.

Re: Cast Iron Pieces On exhaust manifolds, the delta Mark is a sure sign that it is an original Ford piece. On the engine heads, the delta Mark should be present on the top surface between the water pump and upper water outlet, except on early 28 heads. Judges look for these as well as some others.
