1933 1934 Spare Tire Mount Question

I assume the spare tire is mounted the way it is, to allow for opening of the deck/rumble lid.

Can the mount be modified to allow the spare to sit lower and tighter to the body?
Is there and issues with bumper clearance, etc?

anyone done this before?

The mounts are embossed with their part number inside in the casting. Make sure you have the correct one for your model otherwise the spare will not fit properly (tight to the body)

Terry,

With respect, I believe that you're thinking of the '35s and '36s where the spare mounting bracket varies by body type. Other that the '34 Victoria bracket, all the other '33-'34 passenger car body types use the same bracket. There were two early versions for '33s, both of which are rarely encountered, but both of which were also for all passenger car body types. Those early '33 versions similarly do not readily lend themselves to sectioning or other modification to alter the position of the wheel and tire.
