Sticker/Decal on Windshield
 

Did the State issue stickers/decal to all Model A Fords from 1928 to 1931?
Have them pasted on the windshields on driver's side?

Many states you "bought" a new plate each year --in NJ the sticker came about in the mid 30s as proof of passing a safety inspection.

What type of sticker,size, color, inspection, registration, ration, town dump, etc.?? More info/photo please. Also, WELCOME to the fordBarn.

Kurt in NJ: That's a neat site for insp stickers. When I had my 32 coupe in '61 with the olds eng in it, and just turned 16 cops, etc were a lot tougher. Went into the office of the garage I was working at and "borrowed" a sticker. Peace of mind. serenity now...............

Not just the model A, but all cars received State license stickers for their windshields in the State of Washington during the war years. WWII, & Korean wars. An additional sticker was the "A" gas ration sticker used during WWII that was necessary to identify the vehicle for the conventional gas type of ration tickets that were being used with their vehicle. I still have my ration books from WWII.
